John Ritter was an American actor and comedian best known for playing Jack Tripper in the sitcom Three's Company and Paul Hennessy in 8 Simple Rules. He won and was nominated for many Emmy, Golden Globe, People's Choice, and Screen Actors Guild Awards throughout his career. John starred in many television movies including Stephen King's It, Danielle Steel's Heartbeat with Polly Draper, and It Came From the Sky. He also had guest roles on countless television shows, including Ally McBeal, Scrubs, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Felicity. John read 8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter by W. Bruce Cameron for Macmillan Audio. He died in 2003 at the age of 54.
